GRADE: 3 – The walk is mostly on well defined tracks, however there are some sections with rough formed steps and also exposed tree roots. Some areas of sloping path covered in loose gravel. Relatively short walk of 6km return but with changes in terrain as described above.

MEETING POINT: Cooma North Shops car park

DESCRIPTION: After a long travel time to Haycock Point car park (some 2hrs) we will pause for morning tea and toilet break before heading off along the trail towards Barmouth Beach. Along the way we will have many opportunities to look out to sea for migrating whales. There is also a healthy number of kangaroos along the path. Even though it is a short walk the vegetation varies considerably as does the wildlife encountered.
Be sure to bring your own insect repellent as there are ticks in the area.
Time permitting we might explore the Pinnacles via a turn off along the Haycock Road, this is a short walk to a viewing area and access to Long Beach.
First time visitors to the club are welcome on this walk as their introduction to the club, past members will be required to renew their membership prior to commencing the walk.
Participants that are travelling on elsewhere and not returning to Cooma after the walk will need to sign-off the activity for insurance purposes.
