Kosciuzsko Huts Association and NPWS have advised they will be having a working party training day soon, at Mackay’s Hut.  Our trip will be re-scheduled to suit, Date to be confirmed.

Travel out to Our Hosted hut.

Mackays (or Tibudeos) hut is one that Geehi Bushwalking Club is the caretaker for.

The Geehi Bushwalking Club will be cleaning up Mackays Hut on Saturday 10th November.

This is part of the club’s commitment to maintaining part of the history of the Snowy Mountains area. It is not usually possible to access this hut on a day trip, however the club has access to Happy Jacks firetrail for the day. After driving along the trail past Bald Hill via Lake Eucumbene the group will walk along the Greymare Firetrail for 8 kilometres. The return trip will be back along the same route.
The track itself is a well defined dirt road with several creek crossings. There is a possibility of getting wet feet in order to cross some of them.
Any major works will require prior approval from the NPA. This means that the group will only be completing general cleaning and inspection duties, allowing the group some time to relax and take in the fresh mountain air.
Anyone wishing to come along is to contact the walk leader Jamie Bond via the club email geehiclub@hotmail.com

We will need an early start so meet at 07:00hrs.
