DESCRIPTION:

Activity starting point will be the trail-head at the North end of Smiggins Holes ski resort car park.

We will head out on the cross country ski  trails which are marked but not groomed.

First 1 km is across an open area until we crest the hill, and then we meet some trees. There is a choice of a shorter 2km or the full 4km trails.

Expect some good views as we rise above the level of the ski resort, looking out to the West up the Snowy River Valley towards Mt Twynam and the Main Range, and to the North towards Schlinks Pass and the Rolling Grounds.

The terrain is rolling rather than steep, with gentle uphills and a downhill near the finish for the skiers to practise some turns.
