ACTIVITY: Cooma North Ridge Walk
DATE: Saturday 17th April 2021
MEETING POINT: End of Mulach St near the stile past the Pound at 8.45am for a 9.00am departure
RETURNTIME: Approximately 11.30am

GRADE: Grade 4 (Medium-Hard) Steeper, rougher terrain & may have off-track sections (no more than one quarter of the walk) or a longer distance track walk. Opportunity exists to explore and discover relatively undisturbed natural environments mostly along defined and distinct tracks. Tracks can be steep. There may be short sections of rock scrambling involved.
Not suitable for most beginners.
DISTANCE: 7 Kilometres (Approximately) Formed track, some obstacles.
RISKS: Covid-19,
Walking: injury from tripping and falling, snake bite, dehydration.
GEAR:
Sun Protection: hat, sunscreen,
Clothing: warm clothing, rain gear, good walking shoes,
Personal protection: hand sanitiser, no toilet facilities, sunscreen
Personal Medication: eg Asthma inhaler
Food: Morning Tea, fluids of choice and water-essential, day pack
DESCRIPTION: 7+ km adventure loop along the Cooma North Ridge beginning at the western side of Cooma North Ridge. We will ascend to the ridge line via the Borrow Pits Track and proceed to the water tanks to see the developments there. From there we will head North to 3 Poles locality and the Orchid track to the Northern boundary of the reserve.
We will head off track from the ridgeline to Cooma Creek. A stroll along the creek past the sewage works will give us a different view of the Reserve before heading back to the ford at Mulach Street where platypus have been spotted.
Hear of the Indigenous and European history of the area.

In response to the NSW Government regulations surrounding social gathering The Geehi Bushwalking Club will follow the following protocols:
- All participants are asked to comply with whatever Government guidelines are current on the day
- All participants please adhere to social distancing measures.
- Do not attend the activity if you feel unwell or have been in contact with a known or suspected case of Covid-19
- Bring your own pen to sign the Risk Management Document.
- Bring Hand sanitiser.
- The Geehi Club will record your contact details and pass them on to authorities if we are asked to assist in contact tracing.
