This is our chance to dust off and get out on our skis (or snow shoes if you prefer). We will explore the ski trails around Dry Dam at Cabramurra, which has so far received excellent snow cover.

In good weather this offers excellent skiing on open rolling terrain with great views to Jagungal, Mt Tabletop and more.

There will be some trails to follow although many of the old marker poles may be missing now since the 2020 bushfire.

Unfortunately the cross country ski hut was also burnt down and much of Cabramurra township, which is now closed to public for re-construction.

So we need to be self sufficient in gear, food and clothing.

The up side is that car parking is right next to the snow and we will likely have the place to ourselves.

Route and distance will be adjusted to suit the weather, snow and the group conditions. So come on out, it should be a relaxing and enjoyable day.

Note that there are toilets at 3 locations on the way, Adaminaby, Kiandra and Three Mile Dam.

If you need to rent skis or snow shoes, please arrange beforehand. Rhythm snowsports in Cooma has both cross country skis and snow shoes to choose from.

In the event that snow cover is inadequate, Perisher Valley can be the alternate location.
