Description

Meeting in the Cooma North Shops car park at 09:00 Saturday 11 July 2020,
Drive south of Cooma on the mostly gravel Myalla Road for 30 kms to a point west of the peak.

The walk will be straight up the Jinny Brother Peak for 1.2 kms with a climb of 230 metres, then return. The going is open native grasslands as we climb the extinct volcanic cone for dramatic views in every direction.

This is only a short walk but the climb will be very much exposed to the Monaro winter weather. There will be time to search for original survey marks from the 1870s and other items of historical significance. Myalla Station was one of the earliest settled areas in the district.

Morning tea will be on the summit and we expect to be back at the cars by lunch time.
