This trip will be a 4 day bushwalk from Round Mountain to Jagungal and return. Mt Jagungal is the isolated peak North of the main Range and the only one over 2,000m separate from the main range. So we can expect great views, weather permitting.
This walk will be mostly off track and has been graded 5 – hard.

Location: Jagungal Wilderness area.
- Toolong Range 1:25,000 8525-1N,

After the walk commences on Round Mountain Fire Trail we divert East and down to the Tumut River.
Follow Tumut R south to Camp 1. Opportunity here for fresh fish for dinner.
Continue up the Tumut River to the crossing of Grey Mare Fire Trail.
Then up the Mt Jagungal foot pad to Camp 2.
Climb to Mt Jagungal Summit, Then follow ridge line toward Jagungal Saddle, from there north down un-named spur to O’Keefe’s Hut. This will be the only intact hut that we visit. All our campsites will rely on tents for shelter.
Then on grey Mare Fire Trail and onto Farm Ridge Fire Trail to camp 3.
Walk out on the Farm Ridge Fire Trail to the Track head.
As you can see this is a real wilderness walk and we are not planning to stay at any huts, you will need to bring everything; all food and clothing and camping equipment. As it is late Autumn allow for the possibility of cool weather. But remember, you will have to carry it all so keep it as light as you can.
Due to the remote location numbers will be limited, so contact walk leader as early as possible to discuss the equipment and fitness level requirements. Latest date for expressions of interest is Mon 11th April.
Initial contact with walk leader will be at: email@example.com
