This walk is a chance to check out the Mulligans Flat Nature Reserve and Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve situated just north east of Gungahlin, ACT.
Hopefully we will get to see some of the wildlife within the reserve. Apart from the many kangaroos there are Eastern Bettong, Bush Stone-curlew, Eastern Quoll, and more in the reserve. Be sure to bring your camera!
The drive time is between 1.5 and 2hrs from Cooma so we will need to set off at 8:00 and arrive back in the late afternoon.
The walk will be all on trail and selected to suit the group on the day (there are many options on the trail map).
Dress in layers and make sure you have wet weather gear (just in case). The walks are on trails, but will require comfortable walking boots. There are some hills involved, but the gradients don’t seem too steep. Pack a lunch and some snacks. There is a cafe on the edge of the reserve called Wildbark
Depending on the numbers attending, we may have a car shuffle. This will allow us to explore more and not have to retrace our steps.
Please advise by email to geehiclub@hotmail.com if you are coming along or need further information.
