Activity: – Bush Walk and Camping
Date: – Good Friday 19th to Easter Sunday 21 April 2019.
Leader: – Frank Bakker
Grade: – Medium – Hard (walk will be on well-formed track half of the way and approximately half off track.)
Distance: – approx. 18 Km each way in to Pretty Plains Hut, camp 2 nights then return.
Meeting Point: – Cooma North Shopping Centre Car park 07:00 (Participants will share transport from the meeting point to the start of the walk.) Driving time is approx. 2 hrs each way.
Cost: – Participants will share the cost of transport from Meeting point, Distance is 140km from Cooma.
Description: –
The walk commences at Tooma Dam and we will travel approx. 10 km passing by Patons Hut to the junction of Tooma River and Bull’s Head Creek along Dargals Fire Trail.
After the junction it is approx. 8 kilometers off track walking up the Pretty Valley to Pretty Plains Hut.
We shall return via the same route to the Dargals Fire trail, with option of visiting Toolong diggings area and Wheelers Hut and return on Snakey Plains Fire Trail.
This walk would suit people with good Fitness and ability to carry a full size pack with all camping gear.
Note; we may not have exclusive use of hut so we will need to bring tents too.
