For this years Womens Week (2nd-8th March), Bushwalking NSW is promoting short easy walks throughout NSW to encourage participation from Women. As part of this promotion, we have selected the Settlers Track in Namadgi National Park. Those that are not members of the club are particularly encouraged to come. It’s an enjoyable, relatively easy walk, following a normally well maintained track through open bushland country, then returning along open flats. There shall be plenty of time for a relaxed pace and lots of photos.
Whilst this area in now National Park, reverting back to natural bushland, it was grazed in the first half of the 1900’s. Various historical artifacts remain to be investigated, in particular we’ll visit two huts of the early settlers.
Starting at Brayshaws Hut we will be walking the shorter loop (not going out to Waterhole Hut). We return via Westermans Homestead to the starting point.
There are pit toilets at the start at Brayshaws Hut and then at Westermans Homestead.
