On the 19th July 9 members set off from Cooma to drive to Namadgi National Park going via the upgraded Shannons Flat Road.
In pleasant walking weather we started the walk at Brayshaws Hut, taking time to explore around it.
We then walked through open bushland to Waterhole Hut and the nearby old stockyards before returning along the firetrail to Westermanns Hut.
Stopping there for lunch we then took time to have a look around and visit the graveyard. Reading the signage about what life was like back in the day is always a reminder of how conditions have changed, and how hard it must have been when things went wrong.
All three huts are fairly well maintained with some ongoing works. We then completed the loop back to the cars at Brayshaws Hut.
This walk is always a pleasant one to do if you feel like having an easy 9km stroll!
