ACTIVITY: Walk the Ridge with Geehi Bushwalking Club

The Geehi Bushwalking Club are planning to host the Cooma community and visitors to show off the Cooma North Reserve and its features.

TIME: 9am meet for 9.15am departure.

MEETING POINT: Balli Place, Cooma North.

DESCRIPTION: 7 km loop walk along the Cooma North Ridge to take in the many views in different directions from this vantage area. Continue to the Orchid Trail named by Hugh Darby to see local native orchids in flower. Take in the Indigenous and European history of the area. Walk down to the old sewage works and hear from Matthew Kent, Volunteer with Cooma Landcare and Cooma Water Watch about the local platypus monitoring program.

Back up the gully to the ridge and Balli Place.

RISKS: Uneven surfaces, steep rubbly slopes-ascending and descending, steps, snakes.
