We have booked a lodge at Smiggins Holes Ski resort again this year so that we can do more walks with less travelling.
Itinerary:
Arrive at IMBAC lodge after 4pm on Friday 15th Nov. Check in and make own meals for the evening.
Sat 16th Nov: early breakfast and pack for a day out in the mountains. Ready to go by 0800. Drive to Charlottes Pass.
After the walk we will return to IMBAC to refresh and get ready for the evening. Join in a “Pot luck” meal with your contributions to share.
Sun 17th Nov: Pack up rooms, have breakfast, make lunch and full clean up of the lodge. Aiming to finish and check out by 0900.
Drive to Perisher to start the next walk.
Walks proposed:
Sat 16th November; The Lakes Walk, from Charlottes pass to Mt Kosciuzsko, Lake Albina, Mt Carruthers, Blue Lake and across the Snowy River to Charlottes pass.
Meet at Charlottes pass at 0830. People not staying at the lodge can join us here.
Total distance of 23km, total walk duration approx 6 hours.
Walk Difficulty: Medium – Moderate, Grade 3 mostly on made paths and grid mesh with stepping stones for river crossing at the end, longer than most of our recent walks. Be prepared for crossing snow drifts in places.
Sunday 17th November: The main range walking track from Perisher Valley to Bullocks Flat. This is new track that is the final link in the circuit joining the Thredbo Valley trail.
Meet at 0930 at Perisher Valley. A car shuttle is required so we will ask for some non walking volunteers to assist.
The walk distance is approx 12km, with significant net downhill.
Grade will be Medium to Moderate, Grade 3 on made paths and metal mesh. Be prepared for lots of steps.

At this time of year the lodge is booked on a self catering basis, and BYO sheets (or sleeping bags) and towels.
Cost is $50 per person per night.
Please confirm your intent to join us by 30th September, we will then provide payment details to be completed by 15th October.
If you want to join one of the walks without staying at the lodge, please let us know by 12th November.
