The Geehi Bushwalking Club had planned a walk for 17 August but this is now postponed to Saturday 24 August, due to a death in the leader’s family.

The walk will be to Ram’s Head Peak in the Kybeyan State Conservation Area (not to be confused with Ram’s Head in Kosciusko Park). We’ll meet in the Cooma North Car Park at 0800 for car pooling and preliminary briefing then drive south on the Monaro Highway turning off at the Dangelong Road. Driving distance will be 30 kilometres each way from Cooma. After crossing the Numeralla River we will climb for 5 kilometres indirectly to the summit, then return. The walk could be classed as medium to hard depending on the actual route taken and the vegetation encountered so wear long trousers. The map used will be the Kybeyan 1:25,000 sheet and the peak is at GR120747. Bring the usual gear for bushwalking on the Monaro in winter: lunch, hat, jacket and gloves wouldn’t go astray too.
