We will be camping at the Blue Waterholes for the weekend and using it as a base camp to explore the various walks and caves in the area.
Meet at 4pm on Friday 17th at Cooma North shopping centre Car park.
We will then drive via Adaminaby, Rules Point and then on Long Plain Rd to the Blue Waterholes camp area. Approx 25km on gravel roads. Allow 1 3/4 hr driving time.
There are 4 Sites pre booked for our group, allowing for up to three small tents per site.
On Saturday the plan will be to walk the Nichols Gorge track, with opportunity to explore Cooleman and Murray Caves. Distance is about 7kms, of medium difficulty. We’ll return to camp at the cars.
On Sunday we’ll go along Clarke Gorge, hopefully checking out Barbers cave along the way. This is also of medium difficulty, but only about 5kms so plenty of time to take photos. It involves many creek crossings, so wearing shoes that can get wet would be better.
