Big Talbingo: Grade 3. Along (locked) access road to top, steep at times.

Description

From Cooma drive approximately 1.5 hours (132 Kms) along Snowy mountains Highway towards Tumut. On the Cumberland fire Trail turn left into Landers Falls car park. 4.6 Km on well formed gravel road with steep, gravelly sections. We recommended 4 wheel drive into the carpark.

From this car park we would then walk to Landers Falls along on a well marked track. There is loose gravel in parts but it is an easy walk, approximately 1.5 hours return with good views from the lookouts.

After which we can then set out on the Talbingo Tower Fire Trail to Big Talbingo. There are some short steep sections that are not too hard. Expect amazing views from the tops. Back to car park will be along same route, taking approximately 4 hours return.

Gear: Water, lunch, snacks. Good walking shoes, expect changeable weather so
dress/pack accordingly.
