This walk will be undertaken from Snowy Mountains Highway on this occasion due to lack of access to Ravine during Snowy 2.0 construction. It is an old miners route as described in our Snowy Mountains walks book, from p136 (8th ed) which we will check as we go for currency.
This is our chance to dust off and get out on our skis (or snow shoes if you prefer). We will explore the ski trails around Dry Dam at Cabramurra, which has so far received excellent snow cover. In good weather this offers excellent skiing on open rolling terrain with
This trip will be a 4 day bushwalk from Round Mountain to Jagungal and return. Mt Jagungal is the isolated peak North of the main Range and the only one over 2,000m separate from the main range. So we can expect great views, weather permitting.
The recent ongoing wet weather may have put people off, but 3 club members managed to score a day of perfect weather for a wander up South Ramshead.
Walk description Friday Feb 11; depart Cooma in convoy 3pm. Drive to KNP border at the end of Snowy Plains firetrail. Several creek crossings on the way, 4wd only. Park the vehicles at KNP border. Short 1/2 hr firetrail walk to Cesjacks Hut. Set up camp and explore around Cesjacks

This walk was a trek up to above the tree line, exploring the high ridge to Consett Stephens Pass and Mount Tate and is one of the walks described in The Geehi Bushwalking Club’s book – Snowy Mountains Walks, page 81 in our 8th edition.
It was a sunny day for the Geehi’s first walk of 2021 in an area that looks to have benefited from the recent rain.
