  • Pretty Plains area

    We will be heading to the Pretty Plain/ Wheelers hut area over Easter this year. Details may change, but the current plan is to drive to Tooma Dam, then walk to Wheelers Hut. On the following day go to Pretty Plain via Broadway Tops, next day returning to Wheelers hut

    Coornartha Nature Reserve is situated about 14 km east of Cooma on the Numeralla road. It is eucalyptus woodland which was formerly State Forest. It is a known Koala habitat area, as witnessed on a prior Geehi Club walk. Our walk is will explore the reserve, which includes moderate slopes

    This walk is a chance to check out the Mulligans Flat Nature Reserve and Goorooyarroo Nature Reserve situated just north east of Gungahlin, ACT. Hopefully we will get to see some of the wildlife within the reserve. Apart from the many kangaroos there are Eastern Bettong, Bush Stone-curlew, Eastern Quoll,

  • Bobundra Nature Reserve

    Bobundra Nature Reserve is situated about 30 km south of Cooma on the Maffra road. It is very rocky, generally with sparse understory. Our walk is off-track but fairly easy, with short bits of moderate scrub. We’ll include the Bobundra trig station and wander through a selection of vegetation types.

  • Bournda Island

    Hoping for some nice weather for a bit of whale watching as we walk from Tura Headland to North Tura Lookout / Bournda Island and return. The distance is about 10km return and will involve walking on defined trails. There will be some stairs along the way. 2km each way

  • Tantangara Mountain

    A gentle walk, largely offtrack, taking in Tantangara Mountain, and the nearby Tantangara or Harvey's hut. Approaching from somewhere near the horsecamp near Sawyer's Hut and exiting via Black Walter's Creek. Tantangara is a hugely atmospheric place with 360 degree views. Car shuffle will be arranged.
